Programs, Events & Traditions

College is about experiences.  The programs, events, and traditions offered by the Office of Student Activities & Orientation and student organizations enhance these experiences.

Taste of the Quad takes place during the Fall orientation week, hosted by the fraternities and sororities of IIT, featuring food, music and carnival games, it is one of the largest social events on campus all year and designed to entertain and feed a large number of IIT students, incoming and returning, Greek and non-Greek alike.

Homecoming is a week full of tradition and IIT pride.  Several fun and entertaining events take place during this festive time, with the week ending with the Homecoming Dance.

International Fest is the International Student Organization's premier event that is held in both the Spring and Fall semesters, where students from different countries and ethnic groups get an opportunity to present a variety of food from their culture.

Midnight Breakfast gives students a chance to have a study break with a late night breakfast on the Tuesday of finals week in both the Spring and Fall semesters.

Spring Formal allows students to experience a night out on the town.  Filled with dinner and dancing, this event is one of the highlights of the Spring semester.

Talent Show is a yearly event that takes place in Spring semester that allows students to showcase their unique talents and abilities. Faculty serve as judges for this exciting event.

Stress Relief Zone creates a chance to relieve that stress and tension during finals week.  Puzzles, games and snacks gives students the perfect break they need when they're not cramming for finals in the Spring and Fall semesters.
