Our summer offerings give you a taste of what working engineers experience in real life. Each program lasts just a few days, so you can attend more than one program.
NOTE: Due to unforeseen circumstances surrounding COVID-19, all in-person daytime programs have been cancelled. We will resume our on-campus Pre-College daytime programs in summer of 2021.
Introduction to Biomedical Engineering
Biomedical engineers improve our health and lives through advances such as artificial organs, sophisticated robotoperated surgical equipment, advanced medical imaging, and deep brain stimulation. (Two sessions available)
Introduction to Engineering and Fabrication Studio
In the first week, you will learn through speakers and hands-on activities what biomedical, chemical, electrical, mechanical, civil, and environmental engineers do in their jobs. You’ll use Arduinos and 3D printers to explore areas of engineering in greater depth and to see how math and science provide a basis for technology innovation. (Two sessions available)
Introduction to Engineering and Fabrication Studio—Condensed
Take part in many of the same exciting activities in our week-long Introduction to Engineering and Fabrication Studio course in fewer days.
Introduction to Robotics—Middle School
Whether it be in manufacturing, medicine, or your very own home, robots are everywhere! New strides in robotics are being made every day thanks to innovative engineers. This is the course where you will discover this ever-expanding field of engineering.
Recent advances in technology enable robotics and automations to be smarter by applying computer vision in order to understand current surroundings and learn changes immediately. In this program, students will be exposed to design aspects of hardware configuration and have the opportunity to program software applications for an autonomous robotic sorting arm.
