Biological Sciences: Under a Microscope

Eligibility Requirements

Rising ninth through 12th graders. To participate in the residential experience, students must be at least 15 years old.

This session will take place from Monday–Thursday from 10 a.m.–3 p.m.

Cost

Residential: $3,000; a $100 deposit is due at the time of registration

Commuter: $1,500; a $100 deposit is due at the time of registration

Program Description

This program will provide hands-on lab experiences in the modern biological sciences, as well as mentorship and career exploration with alumni, faculty, and professionals in research, industry, education, medicine, and other health professions. Students will gain hands-on experience in the laboratory using recombinant DNA technology, bioinformatics, physiology, and by analyzing microorganisms found in the environment and on their own bodies. This will expose students to the multitude of different career paths that are available in the life sciences, and make them aware of the exciting science available to them.
