Spring 2021 Options

We understand that ongoing concerns surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) may prevent you from traveling to Chicago to attend our university in person.

Illinois Tech is committed to helping you take the next step with your education. We are offering a variety of options to help you begin your graduate studies as soon as possible:

Online Courses: We are now offering several business, engineering, information technology, and science courses online. By taking your courses online, you can begin your studies on time, even if your travel is delayed in 2021. When the travel restrictions end, you can continue your studies on our Chicago campus beginning in fall 2021.

Admission Deferral: You can choose to defer your studies for up to one year (two full semesters). Since you have already been admitted, you can simply wait to travel to Chicago at a later date. This is a good option if you would like to enroll in a program that does not offer online courses. If you are interested in an admission deferral, please update your intent to enroll by logging into your app tracker or email the department of graduate admission, with deferral request in the subject line, at grad.admission@iit.edu.

Test Score Accommodations During the Novel Coronavirus Outbreak

Due to the impacts of the coronavirus on testing centers, we are making the following accommodations available to all students for the spring 2021 admission cycle for non-thesis master’s programs:

  • GRE and GMAT Waiver: We understand that many GRE and GMAT testing facilities are closed due to the coronavirus. As a result, Illinois Tech has changed our test requirements for spring 2021. We are no longer requiring students to submit GRE or GMAT scores for all master’s programs. Please contact us if you were planning to take or retake the GRE or GMAT test so that we may waive this requirement for you. Please visit this page to view a list of questions and answers regarding the GRE or GMAT Waiver.

Illinois Tech remains an inclusive and welcoming community for all of our students. We are here to assist you in making your graduate education plans as seamless as possible. Please contact us at grad.admission@iit.edu with any questions you may have.
