The Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) is a broad-based public private alliance consisting of key industry, academic and government stakeholders whose mission is to support safe food production by developing a nationwide core curriculum, training and outreach programs to assist companies producing human and animal food in complying with the preventive controls regulations that will be part of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).

FSPCA Pilot Sessions
April Pilot Session
Over 30 guests from academia, state and federal government, industry and industry associations attended the first FSPCA Pilot session held at DHRD in Rockville, MD. The course was deemed well organized and the content was clear. Based on feedback and flow, the agenda and materials will be adjusted for the second Pilot session, being held May.
Dr. Robert Brackett, Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) Vice President and Director, Institute for Food Safety and Health (IFSH) will present an FSPCA update during a lunch break session (12:50 – 1:20 pm Eastern) at the FDA FSMA Implementation Public Meeting on April 23, 2015. Kathy Gombas, Senior Advisor, Office of Food Safety, Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, FDA will moderate the session.
Join the FSPCA for an informative session at the IAFP Annual Meeting on July 27, 2015 from 5:15-6:00 pm Pacific. This IAFP session will provide an update on the FSPCA activities and inform participants how to take advantage of preventive controls resources. A Q&A session is included.
The Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA), in collaboration with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), hosts quarterly webinars to update stakeholders on the progress of the Alliance. 2015 webinars are scheduled for March 12, June 24, September 3 and December 17. Translations of the fact sheets of the four proposed supplemental rules are now available.
