Please be sure to review the below checklist and complete each of these important activities before you arrive on campus.

Immediately:
- Check out the Access Illinois Tech Portal portal and your Hawk email
- Sign up for IIT Alert
- Complete the online pre-arrival module
- Submit English Proficiency test result - Provide an official copy of the English proficiency TOEFL or IELTS score report. The code to send your scores to Illinois Tech is 1318. If the applicant has more than 30 credit hours at a school in the United States (excluding ESL credits), this requirement may be waived. Read more about the English Proficiency test requirements.
- Submit your financial documents on the ISSS portal
- Obtain I-20 and submit SEVIS fee
- Schedule visa appointment
- Register for SOAR: New Student Orientation and upload your HawkCard ID photo
May–June:
- Complete the necessary academic assessments, schedule your initial advising appointment with your adviser, and register for courses
- Attend SOAR: New Student Orientation
- Select your housing and food preferences – submit your Housing and Food Contract or Housing Waiver Application
July–August:
- Have your school/college submit your final transcripts to ugaprocessing@iit.edu
- Submit health and immunization documents
- Make travel arrangements
- Check-in virtually with the Office of Global Services within 24 hours upon your arrival to Chicago via the ISSS Portal
- Pick up HawkCard ID and U-Pass when you arrive on campus
