TechPro certificate programs at Illinois Tech are designed to make it easier for you to develop the skills and expertise you need to succeed in today’s evolving workforce.

Whether you want to upskill for career advancement or are considering a career shift, TechPro certificate programs deliver outstanding value and flexibility from Chicago’s only tech-focused university.

  • TechPro includes selected certificate programs in engineering, computing, business and science
  • Illinois Tech partner school pre-selected students are eligible for a 50% scholarship per course or for the entire certificate program, if a student qualifies for admission. Registered and enrolled students will be charged a part-time Student Service fee. The current (August 2022-2023) part-time Student Service fee is $190. The tuition and other fees costs for each new academic year may change.
  • TechPro certificate programs can be completed 100 percent online, and some courses are also offered in hybrid mode for information about mode of delivery see below under the TechPro Certificate Programs section

Your Pathway to a Graduate Degree

Are you unsure whether you want to enroll in a graduate degree program right now? If you decide in the future to pursue a master’s degree at Illinois Tech, you will be able to apply all courses taken towards the certificate program with a grade of B or better, towards your graduate degree program. Partner school admitted students are eligible for 50% scholarship for certificate courses or certificate programs. Registered and enrolled students will be charged a part-time Student Service fee. The current (August 2022-2023) part-time Student Service fee is $190. The tuition and other fees costs for each new academic year may change.

Admission Requirements

All prerequisite courses must be successfully passed relevant to the certificate program course, prior to applying for the program or a course offered under a certificate program.
A maximum of 15 credits per year is permitted including prerequisite courses.

All certificate programs offered by the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) require completion of a minimum of nine credits hours, though one certificate may take up to 12 credit hours. One or all of the Tech Pro certificate courses successfully completed (with a B grade or better)will “apply” to the appropriate master’s program offered by the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Illinois Tech listed below:
