Vishwa Kumar is a part-time Ph.D. candidate in management science, with a specialization in analytics, at Illinois Tech’s Stuart School of Business. He completed his Master of Science in Manufacturing Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Missouri, in 2014 and then joined Discover Financial Services as a data science analyst. In his current role, he is working as a lead data scientist with Aon Hewitt in the domain of marketing analytics for retiree health solutions.
He has over a decade of research experience in the broad domain of artificial intelligence/machine learning and its application in diverse areas of operation management, Internet of Things (IoT), and marketing analytics. His research focus area for his Ph.D. thesis is social media analytics using deep learning methods. He has published papers in leading international journals and conferences, including International Journal of Production Research, Journal of Intelligence Manufacturing, Journal of Risk and Reliability, Procedia Manufacturing, and IEEE conferences.
