Performance-Based Admissions

This inclusive program welcomes learners from all walks of life. The performance-based admissions process serves capable learners ready to start their next educational journey without transcripts, tests, application fees, or other hurdles. Complete three short courses (ITM 705 Microsoft Windows OS, ITM 706 Linux OS, and ITM 707 OS Security) with at least a B in each course, provide proof of your bachelor's degree, and you’ll be accepted to the program.

The certificate will state that the student has earned a Master of Information Technology degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Illinois Tech is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) through a re-accreditation process every 10 years.

The United States Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency have also designated Illinois Tech as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education.

Yes. You can sample the learning experience and test your skills by enrolling in a non-credit course. You can upgrade later to the for-credit experience and pay tuition to apply the credit toward the full degree. Learners can enroll in stackable open content in fall 2023.
