Program Description

Computing is everywhere, and cloud computing is all around us. In this project we will take a look behind the scenes of what are some of the components that are needed for building a cloud computing platform. We will use our own hardware and cover configuring hardware, installing operating systems, networking, racking hardware, stacking hardware, and configuring open-source cloud computing platforms and deploying a simple application. Sample code will be provided.

Example Activities

  • Install Linux Operating system (Ubuntu) on a server
  • Install and configure cloud platforms (Vmware ESXi and Proxmox)
  • Deploy a sample cloud native application
  • Configure and test server hardware to prepare for OS installation

Instructor

Illinois Tech Industry Associate Professor Jeremy Hajek
