Athletics

Athletics has a strong and proud legacy at Illinois Tech—a tradition of competition that reflects our university's commitment to academic excellence and a dynamic student experience. In our athletics programs, classrooms, and research labs our student-athletes develop the interpersonal, ethical, and leadership skills that help them compete at the highest level in whatever endeavor they choose.

In fact, competition time is a serious advantage at Illinois Tech. Because we are a small, private university, our student-athletes receive personalized attention and more opportunities to compete.

A member of NCAA Division III, Scarlet Hawks teams perform in nine men's sports and eight women's sports.

“In high school I knew I wanted to play college baseball. But a college baseball career would only last four years, and a career would last much longer. It’s important to go somewhere that’ll set you up to be successful after graduation, and Illinois Tech will do just that.”
