Illinois Tech’s biomedical engineering program prepares you for careers in industry and research through an exciting, design-oriented curriculum. As a biomedical engineering student, you will learn how to solve challenging medical problems in and outside of the classroom.

Master’s Programs
BME graduate programs prepare you to make significant contributions to the profession, working in areas of high-impact innovation. These include neural prostheses, brain electrophysiology, retinal physiology, hydrogels, advanced medical imaging to detect cancer and other diseases, and biomaterials, among others.
Our central Chicago location provides students access to a diverse range of opportunities to conduct research and explore professional and cultural pursuits.
Ph.D. Programs
Our doctoral programs in biomedical engineering provide students with the opportunity to master the subject matter through significant, original research contributions to the field. The doctoral recipient will be capable of continuing efforts toward the advancement of knowledge and other scholarly activities and may pursue a career in a medical, industrial, or academic environment.
