John N Edwards

John is a Medical Health Physicist experienced in radiation safety, radiotherapy treatment planning, and emergency response. He received his Master of Health Physics (MHP) from Illinois Institute of Technology in 2019. He currently maintains the occupational radiation safety program for the Northwestern Medicine Chicago Proton Center in Warrenville, IL. John is heavily involved in supporting first responders in case of a radiological accident or event, both locally and nationally. He supports state and local governments through FEMA and the US Department of Homeland Security as an active Radiological Operations Support Specialist (ROSS) by providing guidance to first responders and Incident Command. Prior to working as a Medical Health Physicist, John spent 8 years working in the Accelerator Division/Operations department at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia, IL.
