Mark co-founded two non-profits. Veteran Youth Corp provides counseling and mental health treatment for criminal-justice-involved clients. The Good City Group is a collection of Chicago-based architects, industrial designers, urban planners and policy makers who are dedicated to healthy, sustainable cities.
Expertise
Mark worked as Partner with IBM Global Business Services, leading IBM’s state and local government consulting team for four states (IL, MI, WI, MN). Previously, he was Senior Principal for Diamond Cluster (now PwC) advising Fortune 500 clients on business and technology strategies. During his career, Mark worked for several startups: COO for the Ticket Reserve (live event ticketing); CMO for the Great Lakes Center for Energy Smart Communities; advisor to Aquimo (interactive mobile sports apps); and CTO for Capital Construction Solutions (mobile app, now Real Time Risk Solutions).
Mark served as CIO for three industrial firms: one in manufacturing (Duo-Fast Company), and two in transportation equipment leasing (TTX Company and Xtra Corporation, a Berkshire Hathaway Company). He also worked in K-12 education (Chicago Public Schools) and marine electronics (Technical Marine Support). He started his career in consumer products: Helene Curtis (now Unilever) and Quaker Oats (now Pepsico) where he worked in plant industrial engineering, operations, logistics and international systems strategy.
