Santosh Basapur

Santosh Basapur is a lecturer and planning coordinator for human factors and systems design at IIT Institute of Design in Chicago. Basapur shifted to academia after being a principal staff user experience researcher at Motorola Mobility’s Applied Research Center in Chicago for 10 years. His expertise is in using methods from various domains–like HCI, human factors, social sciences, and anthropology–and applying them to UX research. His recent research is in interactive media experiences on TV and tablets or smartphones. The application domains have been mobile wellness, social media apps, and interactive TV entertainment. He is a widely published author and presenter at international conferences. Santosh’s original scientific research with rigorous methods from multiple disciplines attempts to understand the current and future user experiences with technologies in people’s lives. He identifies the attributes of successful interaction designs and develops applications and services that are truly user centric. Santosh also has numerous US patents and publications in peer-reviewed conferences.
