Education

Chatterjee pursued his bachelor’s from the esteemed Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College in West Bengal. Following his B.Tech, Chatterjee joined Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in August, 2019 as a JRF for the Project – “Hands-free Touch-free Man-machine Interaction Device”.

Chatterjee pursued a Ph.D. in the Computer Science and Engineering Department, IIT Kharagpur under Prof. Debasis Samanta in 2020, submitted his thesis “Neuro-Interpretability of Biological Visual Dynamics in Deep Computational Models” in 2024, and defended in 2025.

Research Interests

Chatterjee's expertise is in the field of Neuro-inspired AI, where he develops computational algorithms typically devised from biological properties of the biological brain. As a co-lateral exploration, he also has expertise in neural modelling and biological learning.
