Join the Department of Social Sciences for this Great Problems, Great Minds seminar series event featuring guest speaker Michelle Jurkovich, an assistant professor of political science at the University of Massachusetts Boston.

Jurkovich will be discussing her book, Feeding the Hungry: Advocacy and Blame in the Global Fight Against Hunger (Cornell University Press, 2020). Her book examines how hunger was put in the international political agenda, the contemporary shape of international anti-hunger advocacy, and why there is no agreement on who is ultimately obliged to act to ensure people have access to adequate food.
