SPEAKER BIOS
Jacob D. Furst is a Professor in the College of Computing and Digital Media (CDM) at DePaul University. Dr. Furst has a strong interest in computer security and is the Director of the DePaul Information Assurance Center. He has helped design two majors and three courses in the CDM security curriculum. Dr. First has taught Secure Electronic Commerce, Social Aspects of Information Security, Information Systems Security, Host Based Security, and Introduction to Networking and Security. Dr. Furst earned his PhD in computer science from UNC Chapel Hill; he has a master's degree in education and a bachelor's degree in English literature. His research interests are in medical informatics with applications of machine learning and data mining to medical image processing and computer vision. His current work concentrates on being able to generate semantically meaningful information about lung nodules in computed tomography images of the human torso.
Dennis E. Leber is a proud Kentuckian who now calls Tennessee home; he is a Father, Husband, Grand Father, and Veteran. Dennis started his Information Security career in the Military and has worked in the Automotive, Healthcare, Federal Government, and Finance Industries as an Information Security Leader. Dennis currently serves as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) & Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at The University of Tennessee Health and Science Center (UTHSC).
Dennis has a passion for Information Security and igniting that same passion in others to create future leaders. Dennis has taught Information Security courses at different colleges and regularly speaks at conferences and group events.
Dennis holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Management, a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Security, a Master’s of Information Systems, and a Ph.D. in Technology – Cybersecurity.
Louis McHugh is Director, Cyber-Tech Security and Adjunct Industry Professor, Information Technology and Management at Illinois Institute of Technology. He is a senior IT leader and Technologist with over 10 years of experience in managing complex infrastructures and enhancing organizational productivity through strategic technology solutions. Mr. McHugh excels at quickly understanding complex technical and operational challenges, identifying potential solutions and leading cross-functional teams across all project phases. He brings to any company deep technical knowledge and expertise in IT Security, Software, Solution Architecture, Infrastructure & support, as well as team leadership and project management.
Ray Trygstad is Associate Chair of Illinois Tech’s Department of Information Technology and Management and designs and manages curriculum for Information Technology & Management and Applied Cybersecurity undergraduate and graduate degrees and advises undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the programs. Mr. Trygstad designs, writes, and manages curriculum and courses in Cybersecurity Management, Technology Ethics, Management, and Operating Systems for IIT School of Applied Technology. Evaluate. He wrote and taught Web design courses for Stuart School of Business and served as an Adjunct Professor of Public Administration for the Stuart School. Mr. Trygstad is Vice Chair of the ACM Special Interest Group on Information Technology Education (SIGITE), ABET Program Evaluator in Information Technology and Cybersecurity, and the past Chair of Illinois Institute of Technology Undergraduate Studies Committee. He is also the past National Board Chair of Gamma Nu Eta, the Information Technology Honor Society and served as a member of the Association of Internet Professionals Certification Accreditation Council.
