Description

Hollister Incorporated is an independent, employee-owned company that develops, manufactures, and markets healthcare products and services worldwide. As a manufacturer of Class I and Class II medical devices, Hollister offers a portfolio of products in ostomy, continence care, skin care, and critical care products, with the mission of making life more rewarding and dignified for the patients that use our products. In this interactive presentation, ostomy and continence care products will be the focus. An overview of several products will be provided, along with a discussion of critical attributes that provide for a safe and efficacious product, and result in a positive experience for the patient or end-user. The chemistry behind each product will be discussed along with common laboratory test methods, including: DSC, FTIR, Tensile, etc. which are used to characterize materials, and ensure product quality. Finally, a brief overview of Hollister’s product stability program, which manages the product testing and related documentation to establish and support shelf-life claims (expiration dating), will be discussed.
