The Department of Psychology will host guest speaker Michelle Silverthorn, Founder and CEO of Inclusion Nation, for a lecture titled "They Still Call Me The Nanny: How to Move from Data-Centered Diversity into People-Centered Inclusion."

Unconscious bias infiltrates every aspect of the workplace. Though we have designed strategies and tools to recognize and interrupt bias, diversity numbers throughout many industries remain distressingly low.

Join us as we explore key issues of inclusion and equity:

  • How bias inhibits diverse professionals from success
  • Navigating difficult discussions of racial, ethnic, and identity differences
  • Steps we can take to build organizations and systems centered on people—with authenticity, inclusion, and belonging for all

A reception will be held following the presentation in the MTCC Ballroom.

RSVP to jmckee1@iit.edu by Friday, Oct. 18.

This event is part of the Nambury S. Raju Lecture Series.
