Description

In recent years, chemical biology has become an integral part of preclinical drug discovery research. Medicinal chemistry and therapeutic programs benefit from the ability of chemical biologists to address questions about the mechanistic activity of drug candidates and their biological targets. Baranczak will discuss the efforts of the chemical biology group at AbbVie to develop new chemical and proteomic methods for characterization of small molecules in the context of cellular environment. The strengths and limitations of all methods will be analyzed, as well as their adaptability to high-throughput format assay development.
