Race Car Driver and Environmentalist Leilani Münter To Stop at IIT

Race car driver and environmental activist Leilani Münter will be on the Main Campus from noon-1:30 pm on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Smart Electric Vehicle Charging Station lot located next to the McCormick Tribune Campus Center.

After traveling more than 750 miles from Charlotte, North Carolina to Chicago in an electric car, Münter will be on campus to greet fans and supporters of renewable energy. Sponsored by the Robert W. Galvin Center for Electricity Innovation and the Wanger Institute for Sustainable Energy Research, the IIT community is welcome to attend this event.

Münter, who plans to race on the Chicago Speedway on Saturday, July 19, 2014 will be the first ARCA or NASCAR driver to travel to a race completely oil free.
