Description

Abstract

In this talk we shall review recent results about radial basis function approximation with globally and compactly supported functions in many dimensions. Among many practical uses of this modern tool for function and data approximation, we shall especially deal with optimization and neural network applications. Both are well-known methods in their own right, but turn out to be closely linked to radial basis functions.
