Students, including those eligible for the Federal Pell Grant, who are determined to have a pending Title IV refund balance are eligible for a book advance. The book advance will allow for the use of their refund balance at the university bookstore prior to the start of the academic term. Students who are eligible will receive communication directly from the Student Accounting Office, and they must complete a form that is accessible through the link below prior to purchasing books. A deadline for using book vouchers—the refund balance—will be published each term by Student Accounting.
Students who are not interested in using their pending Title IV refund balance for books must complete the opt-out form so that their refund balance will not be made available at the university bookstore; this will also allow them to receive their aid directly after it disburses on the first day of courses. Students utilizing the book advance option will have their remaining refund balance, minus book purchases, made available after the book advance deadline each term.
