Transformational Scapes

The juxtaposition of nature’s regularly with man’s physical and intellectual constructions; Anna Ursyn’s twenty year digital exploration of what the technological and human worlds have in common.

Anna Ursyn is a Professor at the School of Art & Design, University of Northern Colorado in computer graphics with Ph.D. from the University of Wyoming and a M.F.A. from the University of Wyoming and the Fine Arts University, Warsaw, Poland. She has had over 30 single art shows, participation in over 90 juried and invitational fine art exhibitions including: Association for Computer Machinery/Special Interest Group for Computer Graphics (ACM/SIGGRAPH) Art Galleries: 1989, '90, '94, '95, '97, '99, '01, '02, '03, '04, '05, '06, and ACM/Siggraph traveling shows. Dennis Lee Mitchell
Material Transformation

The tree is the universal metaphor for the human form both ethereal and concrete. Clay reflects the natural world and the source of our presence. Energy is expressed with intense heat transforming the scorched clay into fragile natural forms.

Dennis Lee Mitchell is a Professor of Art, Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago, with a Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics from Arizona State University and a Master of Arts in Ceramics from Fort Hays Kansas State University. He has exhibited widely in the Midwest including: Rockford Rockford Museum of Art, Flatfile Galleries, Fort Wayne Museum of Art, SOFA Chicago at Navy Pier, Dubuque Museum of Art, Evanston Art Center, and Lill Street Art Center, Chicago.

These exhibits are curated by Robert J. Krawczyk, art @ IIT Gallery Director, Associate Professor in the College of Architecture.

The exhibit runs through February 24, 2007, presented in the Kemper Room Art Gallery, Paul V. Galvin Library, Illinois Institute of Technology, 35 West 33rd Street, Chicago. Hours are Monday - Thursday: 12 - 6 pm; Friday: 12 - 5 pm; Saturday: 8:30 am - 5 pm; and Sunday: 2 - 6 pm. The exhibit is free of charge and open to the public.
