Barbi Donnelley named Chair of Mies van der Rohe Society

Barbara "Barbi" Coleman Donnelley was recently named Chair of the Mies van der Rohe Society at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). She succeeds John Rowe who remains on the board of the society and recently became Chairman of the Board of Trustees of IIT.

Donnelley has a wide variety of community and civic experience and has been on the Board of Directors of the Mies Society since 2005. Her other current affiliations include: Wheaton College in Norton, MA.; Virginia City (MT) Preservation Alliance; Chicago History Museum; National Trust for Historic Preservation; Canal Corridor Association; Field Museum of Natural History and Art Institute of Chicago.

The Mies Society is committed to preserving Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s legacy and maintaining the architectural integrity of his buildings at Illinois Institute of Technology, enhancing educational programs for IIT students and reinforcing Chicago’s international reputation for architectural distinction.
