Geiger Assumes Chief Student Affairs Officer Duties

Douglas Geiger has assumed the responsibilities of Chief Student Affairs Officer in addition to his current duties as Dean of Students at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT).

Geiger will take on new supervisory responsibilities in the Athletics Department and IIT’s Stuart Graduate School, Residence Life, Student Activities and Orientation, Greek Life, Multicultural Student Services, Counseling Services, Student Health Center, and Campus Ministry.

Geiger joined IIT in 1993 and has served in several student affairs leadership roles. Doug received his BA from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and his MA in higher education administration from Michigan State University. He is currently completing his doctoral course work in higher education at Loyola University.

Founded in 1890, IIT is a Ph.D.-granting technological university awarding degrees in the sciences, mathematics and engineering, as well as architecture, psychology, design, business and law. IIT’s interprofessional, technology-focused curriculum prepares the university’s 6,200 students for leadership roles in an increasingly complex and culturally diverse global workplace.
