IIT’s Stuart School of Business appoints three new professors

Illinois Institute of Technology’s (IIT) Stuart School of Business recently announced the appointment of three new professors.

Dr. M. Krishna Erramilli will assume his duties as Professor of Marketing and Director of Stuart’s MBA Program in August, at the start of the Fall quarter. His research interests include International Marketing Strategy, Foreign Market-Entry Strategy, Competitive Advantage of Global Firms and Growth Strategies in Emerging Markets.

Dr. Erramilli’s 30 years of professional experience spans North America, Africa and Asia. He worked in industry in India and Nigeria and taught in universities in the U.S. and Singapore. Prior to joining Stuart, he was a faculty member and Associate Dean in the Nanyang Business School, Singapore, one of the largest business schools in Asia, ranked one of the top 70 schools in the world. He has presented more than 25 conference papers at major international conferences, such as the American Marketing Association and Academy of International Business.

Jiong Sun will serve as Assistant Professor of Management at Stuart beginning in August.

Prof. Sun’s research interests span two key areas--Globalization and Technological Innovation Management. His efforts are primarily focused on the study of technological systems, in which technology, firms, markets, and environments interact, by integrating concepts from economics, operations, marketing, and engineering. His research work is motivated by field studies in diverse industries such as biofuel, safety equipment, and automobile.

Dr. Geoffrey Harris joined the Stuart School of Business as an adjunct professor in 2006, and has now been appointed to the position of Assistant Professor of Finance. He has taught courses on financial modeling and fixed income structuring.

Prior to joining Stuart, Dr. Harris was a vice president in market risk management at First Chicago NBD, and later a vice president and director in quantitative research at Bank One and JP Morgan. He has extensive experience working with complex structured transactions. He has vetted a variety of financial models used by these institutions. His specialization has been credit risk management, methodology and modeling, particularly applied to derivatives.
