Each week, the Illinois Tech Athletics Digest will look back at the week in Scarlet Hawks athletics and provide a brief glimpse at what is up next.  

Here’s a look at Scarlet Hawk athletics on December 11, 2025.  

Women’s Athletics

The Scarlet Hawks women’s basketball team dropped Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) matchups with Lakeland University and Aurora University last week. Chloe Churilla (AMAT 4th Year) led the way last week by averaging 10 points and 5 rebounds per game.

Men’s Athletics

Illinois Tech’s men’s basketball team split a pair of NACC games last week, winning its conference opener at Lakeland before losing at Aurora. Garrison Carter (BA 4th Year) averaged 19 points across the two games to lead the Scarlet Hawks.  

Honors

Women’s soccer players Kayla Smith (AE 4th Year), Gabriella Baltes (BCHM 4th Year), Kelly Hitchcock (ME ’24, M.S. 1st Year), and Grace Yager (UNDE 1st Year) and men’s soccer players Mateo Secaira (ME 1st Year) and Tomas Rebelatto (CS 3rd Year) were all named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region VIII team for their efforts on the field this season.

Scarlet Hawks of the Week

Men’s hoops player Bryce Shoto (BA 2nd Year) and women’s hoops player Uma Peters (CE 1st Year) were named the Scarlet Hawks of the Week for the week of December 1.
