Jeanne Hartig Joins Illinois Institute of Technology as Vice President for Marketing and Communications

Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) President John Anderson announced today the appointment of Jeanne Hartig as vice president for marketing and communications at the university. Prior to joining IIT, Hartig served as vice president of marketing and communications at National-Louis University (NLU) from 2006 - 2010. As vice president, she will oversee the university’s marketing initiatives as well as internal and external communications including web development, media relations, editorial and design. Hartig will be responsible for the development and execution of strategic marketing and communications initiatives for the entire university. She will join IIT starting March 1, 2011.

"Hartig's extensive experience and demonstrated success in higher education marketing, brand building and public relations make her the ideal person to direct Illinois Institute of Technology's marketing and communications efforts as the university continues to pursue a multi-year strategic plan intended to solidify its place among the elite universities that focus on technology and the professions," said Anderson. Hartig brings more than twenty years of communications and marketing experience, with more than fifteen years in higher education. At NLU she successfully executed a major three-year enrollment marketing campaign and re-branding effort, directed major public relations campaigns and website re-designs, and started NLU's social media, search engine optimization, and online advertising programs. Prior to joining NLU, Hartig served as executive director and special assistant to the president for marketing and communications at The University of Toledo and as assistant vice president of university relations and director of university marketing for the University of Central Florida.

Hartig holds a B.A. and M.A. in history from Allegheny College and The Ohio State University, respectively, an M.B.A. from Ohio State, and is currently completing a Ph.D. in community psychology at NLU. She is the recipient of many marketing, communications, design and advancement awards over the course of her career.
