Data science remains a highly in-demand field, and the growing interest in incorporating artificial intelligence into businesses and industries is only increasing. In partnership with the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, our M.A.S. in Data Science with AI will help you learn how to implement AI solutions within data-driven business contexts. This program includes an AI specialization that will train you to develop a deep understanding of big data technologies and how to develop future-forward solutions to arising problems.

Program Overview

Our master's in data science with artificial intelligence instills a two-thirds foundation in data science that ensures you can work with real-world data and communicate insights effectively, while also having the ability to utilize your AI specialization to leverage modern tools, such as LLMs, and master data preparation. This program offers in-person and online learning options and provides you with the ability to thrive in the growing middle market of companies that are implementing AI into their frameworks. After completing roughly two years of study (33 credit hours), you will know how to implement modern solutions within AI-centered business contexts and be able to help enterprises undergoing a digital transformation analyze data and deploy practical AI applications.

Students of this program can look forward to taking several advanced courses with our expert faculty. Here are a few examples:

CSP 571 Data Preparation and Analysis In this course, you will survey industrial and scientific applications of data analytics through case studies that include investigating ethical issues via case studies. You will work with a variety of real-world data sets and learn how to prepare data sets for analysis by cleaning and reformatting them. You will also study a variety of data exploration techniques, including summary statistics and visualization methods.

COM 523 Communicating Science This course focuses on strategies for communicating scientific information in professional settings, helping you to understand how to develop a literature review, proposal, and feasibility study; to learn how to adapt scientific information to various audiences; and to understand how to complete exercises on style, grammar, and other elements of effective professional communication.

CSP 554 Big Data Technologies Big data is the area of informatics that focuses on data sets whose size is beyond the ability of typical database and other software tools to capture, store, analyze, and manage. This course provides you with rapid immersion in big data and the technologies that have recently appeared to manage it.
