Why did you choose your major/what do you want to do with your degree?

I chose BME because I want to modernize the healthcare field and provide smarter and more efficient solutions to current medical practices, whether that be in producing better medical devices, advancing machinery and procedures in biotechnology, or bettering the pharmaceuticals industry.

What is your favorite thing about the Camras Scholars Program?

That we are one of the most unique organizations on campus when it comes to roles, responsibilities, and structure. I value not only the Camras scholarship but also the organization and its members for bettering my education, career, and overall experience at IIT.

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?

I see myself working in the medical device and/or pharmaceutical field and being able to show my children firsthand how vast and promising the STEM field can be and all that your hard work will do for you, your education, your career, and life.

How do you think you best represent what it means to be a Camras scholar?

I have been involved in the creation and managing of the Pillar Project Program for Camras, have assisted in implementing the Literacy program, assisted in planning the inaugural Scholar Soiree, have been on the executive board for two years in both Camras and the Society of Women Engineers, have volunteered for the Hot Chocolate Run Chicago for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and gave a personal informative tour of Chicago for the executive board and the freshman scholars.
