Why did you choose your major/what do you want to do with your degree?

I chose Chemical Engineering because I had always been interested in science, and during my senior year of high school my chemistry teacher helped me realize my interest in chemistry. However, I wanted to be able to apply my knowledge of chemical principles on a bigger scale than in a lab, so I decided to pursue Chemical Engineering.

What is your favorite thing about the Camras Scholars Program?

I love being a part of this network of driven students. There have been many times where a fellow Camras Scholar has helped me in achieving both academic and professional success.

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?

In 20 years, I see myself teaching people of all ages about the importance of science and engineering and helping them find out what their life aspirations are.

How do you think you best represent what it means to be a Camras scholar?

I had the opportunity to work on a research project looking into progress monitoring of construction sites and how AI can be used to create a 3D point cloud of a construction site in order to give an accurate reading of onsite progress. I volunteered for the Chicago Marathon where I helped with the set up, clean up, and directing of the runners to ensure they had a great time.
