Why did you choose your major/what do you want to do with your degree?

I decided to go into architecture because I’ve always been interested in art and creating things, but felt that I’d be able to better serve my communities with architecture rather than fine arts. Architecture is the intersection of art and everyday life, for me. The arts are incredibly important, but it’s important to meet peoples basic needs like shelter too — if I can build them beautiful spaces to exist in, that’s a success.

What is your favorite thing about the Camras Scholars Program?

All the opportunities for growth and success — whether it’s the Pillar Projects, or connecting you with alumni or other ambitious students who will help build you up!

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?

Hopefully, I’ll be running my own firm! I’d love to create a makerspace where all artists can come create and share their skills with their community, whether through making buildings or sculptures or painting or performing.

How do you think you best represent what it means to be a Camras scholar?

I was recently hired as an Assistant Admissions Counselor for UGA!
