Why did you choose your major/what do you want to do with your degree?

My goal is to eventually develop some amount of software for learning at the k-12 levels of education. To help bridge the gap between the opportunities that those living in lower economic households don't have, as I grew up in a low-income neighborhood as well. Ideally it would be free to use and would work in tandem with public education in order to teach a wider range or skills to children and young adults.

What is your favorite thing about the Camras Scholars Program?

It's very supportive. It's like having someone in your corner the whole time even if you sometimes forgot because of the stress of college. Really dependable and nothing but effort from everyone in the exec board as well.

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?

Ideally having made an impact in some software that helped some kids somewhere. That's admittedly vague but so is the future. All I can hope for is that I could give back to the community in the south side of Chicago that gave me so much drive to succeed. That being said, I have high hopes.

How do you think you best represent what it means to be a Camras scholar?

In terms of projects, I am the co-founder of the running org Go Run IIT! (GRIIT). GRIIT is basically the culmination of all the frustrations that me and a handful of friends had about quarantine. Being able to create a social setting that can be remote but still fun and healthy has been my biggest work that is still on-going and hopefully won't stop anytime soon.
