Melody is the lead university conduct officer and is responsible for the management of the community standards process, responding to behaviors occurring both on and off campus as they relate to student conduct, training programs, Maxient system and Clery reporting.

Katherine Stetz

Vice Provost and Dean of Students

Stetz received a B.A. in English from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois, and a M.A. in education from Ball State University.

A Chicago native, she came to Illinois Tech in 2001 and has worked in residence and greek life, orientation, student health, dining services, and student conduct. Throughout her almost 20 years at Illinois Tech, Stetz has led efforts to open two new residence halls on campus and served on many search committees for athletics and other upper administrative roles at Illinois Tech. She also led the efforts for renovations in the Commons Dining Hall, John + Pat Anderson’s Café, and at Global Grounds.

In her spare time, Stetz is a student at the School of Rock and is pursuing other studies. She also enjoys reading, cooking, and hanging out with family and friends.
