Nasrin R. Khalili

  • Associate Professor Emerita of Environmental Management
  • Adjunct Professor, Industrial Technology and Management

Nasrin Khalili is Associate Professor Emerita of Environmental Management at the Stuart School of Business. She is specialized in synthesis of industrial catalysts and adsorbents from waste, design of sustainable supply chain and operation strategies, and prioritization of sustainability initiatives through application of multi-criteria decision making models.

She has two patents for designing new processes for converting waste sludge to activated carbon and a catalyst to remove NOx, and contributed to the design of an award winning water purification system called "KlarAqua". She has also designed and copyrighted a computer program—“Environmental Attribute Calculator” (EAC)—to assist energy management programs at a wide range of industrial and commercial buildings.

Khalili has extensive experience in designing environmental management systems for industry, industrial carbon and water footprinting, carbon emission management, development of sustainable energy management tools and programs, analysis of the CDM projects and their impact on sustainable development.

She is the author of a book titled Practical Sustainability: From Grounded Theory to Emerging Strategies (2011), a workbook for minimizing exposure to emissions released during cleaning up at gas utility sites (2002), and more than 40 refereed publications and peer reviewed conference proceedings.
