Join the Department of Social Sciences for this Great Problems, Great Minds seminar series event featuring guest speaker Xi Chen, an associate professor of Health Policy and Economics at Yale University.

The global population has been experiencing a major transformation of the burden of diseases whereby infectious diseases are gradually displaced by chronic and degenerative diseases. The large prevalence and disparities of cognitive impairment, as well as its tremendous social and economic burdens, threaten older adults, their families, and the sustainability of government support programs. Economists have much to contribute to the understanding and tackling of cognitive aging and its disparities. This seminar will discuss various ways in which economic analyses may benefit brain health and promote effective roles played by individuals and society.
