Join the Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering department for this seminar, hosted by Professor Lily Du. CAEE Department Chair Dr. Gongkang Fu will provide a brief orientation of the CAEE department and IIT during his talk entitled, CAEE Department in It’s Second Centenary. The focus will be on the services available to students. If time allows it, Dr. Fu will also briefly discuss his recent research work as a snapshot of his research interests.

About the Speaker

Professor Gongkang Fu received his PhD degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1987. His specialty is in structural engineering. His research interest has been mainly in bridge engineering, probabilistic methods, and infrastructure system management. His research work has been funded by the National Science Foundation, National Cooperative Highway Research Program, US Department of Transportation, State Departments of Transportation of California, Georgia, Michigan, New York, and Ohio, among others. Professor Fu has authored two books and his research papers and reports can be found on the internet using his name as keywords.
