Description:

Colloidal silica products have been used for various types of industrial applications
ranging from refractories to electronics over the last several decades. Colloidal
silica products are stable dispersions of non-agglomerated, amorphous, nanometer-
size, and spherical particles of silica. The good stability, high surface area,
adjustable particle size distribution and mechanical properties have made colloidal
silica a preferred additive for binding, catalytic, rheological and tribological
applications. Recently, research and analytical efforts have focused on the
development of colloidal products with tunable physical and chemical properties to
open new opportunities in many industry segments. This presentation will include
an overview of colloidal silica properties and a description of the current
development efforts specific to the catalyst and electronic abrasive applications.
