Description

We consider a flow in the Hele-Shaw cell with a upper plate lifted in a prescribed speed. I'll review the linear analysis and some criterion for instabilities. I use the rescaling boundary integral method to simulate the interface to extreme small radius with extreme small surface tension. The space scaling determines whether the scheme can go to the next time step and the time scaling makes larger time step available for the scheme. Our numerical results shows the instabilities and the effect of surface tension on a bubble evolution which would fission into to distinct circles with zero surface tension.
