Opportunities in Finance with James Xiong of Morningstar

James Xiong, Ph.D., CFA, Head of Quantitative Research at Morningstar Investment Management, will discuss careers in finance and quantitative finance on Wednesday, February 4, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at DTC Room C50.

Since joining Morningstar in 2000, Mr. Xiong has worked as a quantitative developer and later as a quantitative analyst prior to becoming the Head of the Quantitative Research. In this position, he manages the ETF portfolios, creating new methodologies and algorithms relating to portfolio management, tail risk management, strategic and dynamic asset allocation, mutual fund selections, alternative asset class investments, and other investment and financial planning topics. He has published more than 10 papers in financial journals including the FAJ and Journal of Portfolio Management, and more than 20 research papers in leading scientific journals.
