Proposal Writing Workshops A & B

Time

-

Please join us for a two-session Proposal Writing Workshop on November 6th and November 20th in the Perlstein Auditorium from 12:50-1:45pm, presented by our very own Dr. Bonnie Haferkamp from the Biomedical Engineering Department.

Being able to write solid research or project proposals is increasingly becoming a very valuable skill, whether you intend to pursue the academic or industrial world upon graduation. This workshop will provide an overview on how to write a strong proposal, as well as provide guidance on various summer research opportunities around the world. In particular, students intending to apply for undergraduate research opportunities at IIT, such as the IIT Engineering Themes PURE program, should consider attending this workshop.

The first session will cover the basic requirements needed for a strong proposal. Following the first session, students will develop a proposal that can be used to apply to the IIT Engineering PURE program at IIT, or to an external opportunity. During the second session, students will be able to review their proposals with other students and faculty to receive feedback and guidance to help them complete a strong, final product.

Dr. Haferkamp, who is Senior Lecturer in the Biomedical Engineering Department, brings many years of experience from both industry and academia and will provide valuable insights in proposal writing and undergraduate research opportunities.
