Understanding the Indicative Factors of University Closings

Abstract:

This research project is to investigate if there are indicative factors for predicting the closure of small liberal arts colleges and universities. This research should allow these schools to take preventive steps to mitigate the likelihood of the university closing due to financial distress. This research project is utilizing an AutoML investigation structure to understand the stability of the indicative factors by comparing the model's consistency across multiple prediction models.

The Friday Research Presentations series showcases ongoing academic research projects conducted by Stuart faculty, as well as research presentations made by faculty at other leading business schools.

All Illinois Tech faculty, students, and staff are invited to attend.
