EcoCAR

Academic Crowdfunding - EcoCAR

Illinois Tech was selected as one of 15 North American universities to participate in the 2022-2026 EcoCAR EV Challenge competition cycle, which is sponsored by General Motors, the Department of Energy, and MathWorks. This is a highly structured, experiential-learning opportunity involving students from across several engineering disciplines that are tasked with designing the modifications to a Cadillac LYRIQ SUV EV in order to have advanced autonomous driving capabilities and four-wheel electric drive. Students who participate are ideally prepared for employment in the automotive industry, among others, because they have gained insightful professional experience through the EcoCAR program. Funds will provide for team travel to EcoCAR events, meetings, and competitions, in addition to necessary tools and equipment.

Armour Academy for Experiential Learning and Student Success

Crowdfunding Project - Armour Academy for Experiential Learning and Student Success

These funds will be used to support engineering students in their pursuit of developing the broad traits of an Armour engineer. Doing so requires a highly intentional and personalized approach that ensures that each and every student participates in the full complement of curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities that holistically develop each student's manifestation of the Armour engineer, which is based on their individual backgrounds and professional ambitions. A team of professional mentors and faculty partners work with each student to identify such opportunities and activities for growth and development. In some cases, student participation requires additional funds to facilitate travel to a conference, a study abroad opportunity, an internship, or participation in a student organization or competition team.

The Built Environment Research Group: Clean Air

Crowdfunding Project - The Built Environment Research Group: Clean Air

The Built Environment Research Group at Illinois Tech has a track record of conducting societally relevant research on indoor air sensing and air cleaning technologies across a range of laboratory and field settings. While the group is funded in part by research grants, they also rely on everyday citizens to help guide their research and testing to inform decision-making for cleaner indoor air. The group specializes in evaluating the impacts of in-duct and standalone/portable air cleaners on particles and gasses in indoor air; assessing ventilation, filtration, and pollutant sources in buildings; and developing and applying low-cost accessible methods to measure pollutant dynamics in buildings. They seek support to continue their work and expand in new directions, with the overarching mission to inform policy and practice for cleaner indoor air.

Your contribution will support outreach to public schools that struggle to deliver a well-rounded curriculum in their classrooms, especially in post-pandemic times. Chicago-Kent College of Law Pre-Law Undergraduate Scholars

Crowdfunding Project - CK Pre-law Undergraduate Scholars

Lack of diversity in the legal profession has an outsized effect. Lawyers act as informal advisors in their extended communities and take the lead in protesting injustice and advocating for change. Chicago-Kent's residential, 3-week summer bootcamp gives 25 undergraduates an experience of what to expect in law school—and advice on getting in. Your contribution will go towards offsetting travel costs and summer income for our out-of-state participants. Visit here to learn more about PLUS. Please help make a young person's dream a reality!
