Art Exhibitions

In the Company of Trees features photographs from the most recent additions to the Jane Olin series, Intimate Conversation. Olin’s expressive approach and her innovative process prints reveal a haunting and singular perspective on trees. Her work conveys both the seeds of hope and the seeds of impending destruction, which only human beings can resolve.

September 21, 2023–March 31, 2024

Kemper Room, Paul V. Galvin Library

(Private opening on September 21; open to the public on September 22)

The Mies van der Rohe Society’s current fundraising project is to transform the West Lobby into a gallery along with the rehabilitation of the adjacent auditorium in the Paul Michael Galvin Tower (ground level). The gallery will support revolving shows for the Mies Society and the College of Architecture, along with permanent displays highlighting Illinois Tech’s campus history.

The aim is to create spaces that support artful presentations and performances. These dynamic architectural places (both interior and exterior) that are responsive to human needs, will be effective in uniting and benefiting the Illinois Tech, Bronzeville, and surrounding communities they serve.

Visit the West Lobby during Homecoming to view this exciting architectural/design proposal.
