Arlen Moller receives a Faculty Innovation Grant

Date

Arlen Moller, associate professor of psychology, recently received a Faculty Innovation Grant to establish a colloquium series and new undergraduate course on environmental psychology.

Environmental psychology is focused on understanding how people’s mental and physical health is influenced by their environments (built and natural) and how people can be motivated to behave in ways that are more environmentally sustainable and that promote environmental conservation.

Held once a semester, the speaker series will invite environmental psychology experts to Illinois Tech to discuss how to best encourage environmentally sustainable behaviors and share how exposure to nature is beneficial for mental and physical health.

Moller will develop the syllabus for the environmental psychology course during the 2017-18 academic year and will offer the course in Fall 2018.
