CAEE Student Leslie Lyons Awarded Scholarship

Armour College of Engineering is proud to announce that Leslie Lyons (CE 3rd year) of Chicago, Illinois is one of four students to be awarded the Verlon W. Braselton Memorial Foundation Scholarship. Founded in 1983 by the principals of Robinson Engineering, Ltd., the annual scholarship is awarded to college students in Illinois and Indiana that are seeking degrees in civil engineering.

The recipients were chosen by the Foundation’s Selection Committee: Mayor Don A. De Graff, Village of South Holland, Mayor Edward J. Zabrocki, Village of Tinley Park, Mr. Russ W. Prekwas, Chairman and CEO of Robinson Engineering, Mr. Christopher J. King, President, Robinson Engineering, Ltd., Mr. James M. Grisham, Scholarship Administrator, Robinson Engineering, Ltd.

“We are pleased to fulfill and continue the mission of the foundation to support engineering education. The award winners are ambitious, conscientious, dependable students with far-reaching goals in the industry. We will be following their progress and wish them much success,” reflects selection committee member, Russ Prekwas.

The scholarships were presented at an awards dinner at the Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, IL on July 23, 2014.
