Getting out the Illinois Tech vote!

Date

Lewis College of Human Sciences, the Illinois Tech Coalition for Inclusion,  and Galvin Library are working to increase voter participation in the November 2018 General Election.

For the next two months, volunteers will be stationed on the MTCC bridge during the university lunch hour inviting students, faculty, and staff to sign "voter commitment cards" that say I WILL VOTE. For the final four weeks leading up to Election Day on November 6, those signed commitment cards will be posted on the large MTCC bridge windows. Past studies suggest that making public commitments, like these, can increase the probability of following through.

Learn how to register to vote at vote.org.

The Galvin Library will also change the library's computer home screens to vote.org for the last week of September in honor of National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, September 25.

Want to get involved? Stop by the MTCC Bridge and sign a commitment card. You can also volunteer to recruit voters in MTCC by signing up here.
