Hao Huang chairs sessions at the Association of American Geographers annual meeting

Assistant Professor Hao Huang organized and chaired a panel, titled "Foreign Direct Investment Trends and Challenges: Technological Innovation, Employment, and Development," for the annual meeting of Association of American Geographers held in Boston on the economic and social impacts of foreign direct investment.

At the conference, she presented a paper on causes and effects of economic inequality, “The Spatial-Temporal Hierarchy of Inequality in Urban China,” which investigates the economic inequality at both inter-region and intra-region levels and reveals the relative significance of globalization, marketization, and decentralization in inter-city inequality.

In addition, she also chaired a paper session, titled "Spatial Inequality, Justice, and Policy IV: America," which focuses on the social effects and policy implications of spatial inequality.
